Naugles…ah the memories. Bought my first ‘dime bag’ at a Naugles or was it a Pup-n-Taco? Yeah good times.
We had Naugles in Las Vegas when I was growing up…2 faves that we seem to eat constantly (and somehow not gain weight):
Naugleburger
Macho Combination burrito with sour cream (thing must have weighed over a pound).

I am glad to know about these secret menu items. The posts are just related to my old memories. You remembered me eating at Pup N Taco. Well, I was surfing for the taco bell secret menu and I got really wonderful posts here regarding that.

If I remember correctly, The Barstow Del Taco is the only one not tied into the chain. So, the menu items, sizes, etc are totally different and they are allowed to.
I admit it. Love Del Taco. Big Fat Chicen Taco is a staple for me as well as the Breakfast Burrito. I need to ask my local location about the hidden menu items.
My first real job was at Taco Bell in La Habra and I thought I had invented the best appetizer ever while there - bean cone. We served soft serve ice cream so I took a cone, filled with hot beans, cheese on top. Delicious. Few years after leaving that storied position I was at an El Taco (still one left on Tustin Avenue near Wine Exchange) and sure enough they had bean cones on the menu.
I tell this story to my kids and they still cant believe anybody would ever eat one. Dont knock it until you have tried it!!
I also did some carpentry work on Mr. Naugles house that he had built in Creston, Calif. right after he sold the chain to Del in the late 1970’s. In the middle of nowhere then and still in the middle of no where now. About 10 miles east of Paso Robles.
