Caught my eye at hitimes.
is the 75 a one ounce pour?
Crazy but that seems about right considering the price. Now the comments will be 1oz pour or full bottle of ____ or 1/2 glass or full bottle of ______ or 1 glass or full bottle of ______
I guess if you have the money to throw around… for what its worth I would take the Oreno over that in the picture anyway.
FYI a bottle was $1,250
Are you bringing some to Rocco’s this weekend, Brig?
Yes, one ounce pour divided four ways
That’s cool. I have had it a few times, but there are wines I would pay that much for just to cross it off my bucket list and get a taste or half glass.
There’s a new restaurant here in Boston (Bostonia Public House) that has it by the 2oz pour ($240), 6oz glass ($800), 14oz carafe ($1875) and full bottle ($3200).
Makes Hi Time seem downright cheap.
That’s actually a good price
Marcoux VV is better
Not something you see everyday! One of the top 2011 California Cabernets I have tasted from a very “challenging” vintage. Now if they only had Second Flight next to it at 1/4 the price!
For $75 you can say you “tasted” Screaming Eagle. I guess for some people that might be worth spending $75…
Bruce
That is actually ok. Last a week a bar charged us $44.00 for a 1.5oz pour of Glenfiddich 21!
1250 for a bottle you cant even get one on wine searcher for that. How is the 2011 anyway?
The Sandeman rocks. And is way cheaper I’m sure LOL.
Why are they pouring 2 1/2 year old Vintage Porto???
It’s a scintillatingly hot and dusty day in the middle of a dry plain, a hundred degrees plus, more than five miles into the nearest tiny town.
Walking along the dirt road in the heat strides a proud cowboy in boots, denim pants, and long sleeved shirt. He’s headed toward town, no shade between him and his destination.
From up behind comes a beautiful Escalade that pulls up beside him.
The window rolls down and the man can feel a wonderful blast of cool clean as the driver asks, “We’re headed into town, would like a lift?”
The man says, “Can’t. Might like it.”
That’s how I feel about delving into Screaming Eagle!
As it’s the most current declared (from a ‘classic declaration’) VP, I would assume so one can try it and see how good it is before buying.
that’s awesome…
That’s cool. I have had it a few times, but there are wines I would pay that much for just to cross it off my bucket list and get a taste or half glass.
I agree. It’s like the tiny pours of Madeira you can get at that famous restaurant that we are not allowed to mention. I had a half ounce of pre-Civil War Sercial Madeira just to try it. I didn’t even like it, but it was worth the experience.
