Did that just unseat Screagle as the highest release price in California? Holy sh*t!!!
You’re paying for the name.
No!
I think Ghost Horse still holds the title.
Is that the wine from The Todd?
Didn’t a 92 Screaming Eagle PNV 6L hammer at $500M?

Yes
Isn’t this the PNV auction lot? If so, does that still count?

Sorta-kinda. At our local Total Wine there is an $800 bottle of Silver Oak from PNV.

500 million dollars for one bottle of wine? I don’t think so…

Technically, 8 bottles.
Fairly certain it was $500,000

The banker in me. $500M = $500,000
Can buy it through Total Wine concierge.
You have to admit, it’s a cool name. A couple years ago, The Wine House in LA bought all of the bottles at NV Auction. They are still sitting on the shelves - https://www.winehouse.com/product/2012-scarecrow-cabernet-sauvignon-pnv-totos-opium-dream-scene-iii-750ml/
The wine house lot was the 2012 scene 3 if I’m not mistaken. I got a chance to taste it along side the 2013 scarecrow a while back. As good as it was, I couldn’t honestly say it was all that much better than the ‘13 scarecrow.

Old story. It was $500,000 at Auction Napa Valley, and it was essentially a $500,000 donation to charity, and a great large format Screaming Eagle in return. For someone of means who is philanthropic, it was win-win.
