If ANYONE has any Booker or Bone Rock available…please let me know. I would love to buy a couple of bottles off of you. (I got the hearstone from a friend who took his full allocation of the other 2.) Please PM me.
You wanna sweeten the pot over release price?
Holy crap… I go to a meeting, come back, check my allocation… and everything but the Heartstone is sold out!!! Must be some kind of record for Saxum… but… but…WTF?? I guess nada for me this round.
mmm…in the words of Borat… Not soo much!!

Kinda crazy, huh? Folks on eBob are bitching up a storm…a price increase and no guaranteed allocation tends to do that to people. At least the offer came with free 2nd Day Shipping.
Yanni, if you cannot find any locally, I might have an extra bottle of each.
6, 12, 12, 1 is a crapload of Saxum. I may have a few bottles of the Heartstone and a couple of the Bone Rock available. I think most people are shocked at how fast the Booker and BR sold out. I know I was, plus no mags of Booker or heartstone this year.

No doubt…$2500 before lunch is pretty aggressive.
I can bitch over here about it too! I guess the right emoticon is:
Not a smart way to do it. Wonder if they held any back to try and fix this morass. Or not…

Same here, I went to the gym, came back and poof all the good stuff was gone. Oh well, there’s always next year.

Somebody over there said they spoke with Saxum via the phone and that no wine was held in reserve as they hadn’t expected the wines to sell out so quickly even at the $75 a bottle price of admission. I guess flirting with 100 points and being well south of a C-Note will drive sales rather quickly.
You wonder how the “allocation” was determined… Saxum’s looking like an american airline and overbooking.
I guess in this case, they didn’t “sell” what they don’t have…
I was offered 6-12-6-1. Email arrived 12:05 EST, tried to order 2:30 all but Heartstone are sold out. At $75 a pop for H.S. which is not one of my favorite offerings from them I’ll pass and feel a LOT less guilty as I load up on 3 cases of Carlisle for less money. If this is the way they treat long time customers, so be it. They don’t need my money obviously and there is plenty of great wine around for me to choose from.

wow, you are right, that is rediculous. Booker and Bone Rock are completely sold out, only thing left is Heartstone.
Carlisle is this week and I am 100% content in shifting my Saxum budget to Tablas Creek.
Not wanting to open the can of worms that is the allocation qty and guarantee…I would bitch about the actual release email and the time that the offer went online. Email stated that the release would be at 9AM Pacific, which would be 11AM Central for me. I took a quick look at 9AM MY time and the offer was up. I grabbed it all, and had a confirmation by 9:21. The actual release email came at 11:02AM My time. I am guessing that those in the know or were just plain lucky got the wines before the vast majority of the list folks knew what happened.

For them to sell out this fast…I wonder if they abandoned sending out the offers in waves. I would love to know if that is true or not.

I feel the same. I’ll happily spend my Saxum budget on Carlisle and Tablas Creek. I wonder if this all was a mistake or a real shift in policy.
Wave or not, it appears that the offer was available online WAY before the stated time of 9AM Pacific even for first tier customers (my term). It think that the scores and praise might have gone to Justin’s head and he just released it all at once since he is now in the SQN realm of being able to sell everything offered in a relatively short period of time. If the 2008’s do not live up to these lofty scores and pricing increases, he may be in for a rude awakening in the latter half of 2010 and early 2011.

I checked the site when I got up around 4:30 Central time. My allocation was up so I grabbed three packs of Bone Rock and Booker. I had my confirmation before 5:30 my time. Like Bill, I received my allocation e-mail several hours later at 11:02.
At least I left my Heartstones on the table for others to enjoy.

I think this is what it amounts to. Their allocation model isn’t suited to make everyone happy when they get huge scores before they release the wine. They need to change it probably or feel the wrath.
But to give them some slack it looks like point chasing is alive and well. RMP still moves wine. That ain’t Justin’s fault.

Interesting they would give the same level of priority to point chasers as long term supporters.
