Sauces/condiments: Fridge or pantry?

My wife and I have disagreements about where to store some of these. I’m talking about store-bought, jarred stuff. What say you about the following, amongst others? [scratch.gif]

Soy sauce/tamari/ponzu
Sriracha
Fish sauce/nam pla
Ketchup
Mustard
Worcestershire sauce

i had a roommate in college that refused to refrigerate butter, so good luck.

soy sauce and fish sauce have enough salt that they don’t need to be in the reefer. Everything else on that list I keep in the chill chest.

What about tortillas and beans?

What about the flied lice…oh wait, we aren’t talking with Victor.

I keep almost everything in the pantry until I open it, then it goes in the refrigerator.

Soy sauce/tamari/ponzu Soy Sauce - Pantry
Sriracha Pantry
Fish sauce/nam pla Fridge
Ketchup - parents left it in a cabinet / pantry - we refrigerate
Mustard Fridge
Worcestershire sauce Pantry

I almost forgot, some things we keep in the wine cellar (instead of the pantry, which can get warm) until we open them.

Agreed.

I’d imagine you keep those next to the Centrum Silver and Metamucil. [middle-finger.gif]

Yep.

Everything in the fridge except worcestershire.

I agree, Worchesteshire stays in the pantry, all else goes in the fridge after opening.

WHAT? soy sauce in the fridge? That’s like eating french fries with chopsticks. No…leave it in the pantry. Soy sauce isn’t supposed to be served cold and it’s not going bad anytime either.

On the other hand…we go through soy sauce way quicker than say…ketchup and mustard.

Anything that’s been opened, other than oils, we keep in the refrigerator. If they are consumed at room temp, we take them out enough ahead of time to warm up for consumption.

Personally, I tend to agree. However, my wife, 'The One Who Must Be Obeyed", disagrees so where do you think we keep it?
