Santa Rosa restaurant recommendations

We’ll be in Santa Rosa early July. Going to taste a bit around there over a few days. Need some restaurant recos, what good up there these days?

always had great luck with Jackson’s and Lococo’s. Lococo’s is old school italian american that’s quite good for what it is and Jackson’s is all based around the wood fired oven they have. Grossman’s a must for breakfast.

Another vote for Lococo’s. My wife also likes La Gare, which is in the same area.

Be very thankful that Guy Fieri’s ptomaine tavern, Tex Wasabi’s, closed some time ago.

They had decent sushi. Not great, but serviceable.

Yeah, I’ve been to his joint at the Linq here in Vegas. Meh.
Funny enough, you should mention Guy. He went to school with my wife at UNLV. She didn’t know him well, but they have some mutual friends and we were at a thing several years ago so I ran into him. Chatted some. He’s actually a pretty nice guy, got a bit of an ego to him, go figure.

We’re staying at the AC Hotel there in downtown, so it looks like there’s a few good places right around there. I can booze it up and walk back to the hotel!

“Decent” only if you stumbled from RR after drinking gallons of Pliny Elder and Younger!

West of 101, close to AC Hotel

  • Stark’s Steakhouse
  • Grossman’s
  • The Goose & Fern

East of 101, closer to downtown SR

  • Augie’s French
  • Bird & the Bottle
  • El Coqui

also echo Buzz’s suggestion of ROSSO, and if you feel like heading a bit further east would also recommend SEA Thai Bistro, Monti’s, and Mandarin Kitchen

He did a feature years back on a restaurant owned by a friend. Guy’s main assistant asked my friend where he could find “hookers and blow” in Portland.

It’s been decades since last visit to le gare. It’s still going strong?

Fieri once big-footed my party waiting to be seated at Babbo. In my only personal interaction with him, Fieri was an asshole.

It has been a couple of years for us. It is always crowded there!

What do you expect from a guy named Ferry from Ferndale.

Anyone been to Spinsters Sisters recently? I was there ages ago and really enjoyed it.
