Sangiovese in the style of Stella di Campalto

Stella di Campalto has peaked my interest. But as I have never really been a big Sangiovese drinker i could need some help here.

What producers makes Sangiovese in a similar style? All price ranges.

Thanks in advance.

I’d recommend Montevertine (both the Toscana IGT, and of course Pergole Torte) and Podere le Boncie (Le Trame, in particular)

Piancornello

Years ago Stella formed a little group (I believe it was called Amici per Sangiovese, or Friends of Sangiovese, or something like that) with fellow producers Pian 'dell Orino and Salicutti. I have purchased and enjoyed all three of these producers wines, both their Rosso and the Brunello, and consider all three in the same ballpark in terms of style, although I believe I read recently that Salicutti sold their property, and I haven’t tried anything by the new ownership yet. (Just found the link to the website below)

Thanks. I will check out all of them :slightly_smiling_face:

Pian 'dell Orino is the one that came first to mind for me…

Bob,

the new owners of Salicutti have assured me that they have no intention of changing Francesco Leanza’s methods.
