Sami-Odi 'Little Wine' #1

A blend of declassified barrels of Hoffmann vineyard Shiraz (Barossa Valley) from 2011 and 2010 and 100% whole bunch, this 13.2% alcohol wine is absolutely delicious. It has plenty of spicy floral lift coupled with juicy blackberries and aniseed. It is slippery and plush in the mouth, certainly more Gramenon than Grange with its immediate slurpiness and has just a touch of salinity.

Jeremy, I’ll add to this for two reasons, 1) only the tiniest sliver of people in the world know about these wines, and b) absolutely everyone should. The Sami-Odi wines are the perfect antidote to the Parker-at-peak/early 2000s Barossa hangovers people still have, (especially in the US).

Aussie sommeliers are just starting to clammer all over each other to get Sam-Odi wines now, and they’re well worth reading up on.

Hmmmm,

Never heard of them, wouldn’t mind to try some…
