I went here last night with my wife for some incredible japanese food and amazing Sake.
This hidden gem is in the basement on an office building on 43rd street between 2nd and 3rd Ave. The Sake list is quite extensive with over 200 different types along with a Sommelier for the sake choices. You can purchase a bottle, box, carafe or my the glass. We paired the sake with the food by opting for Sake first and then the food.
We featured Sake from the Niigata region of Japan and imbibed Kirinzan, koshinokanbai, Kubota Koujou, and Yukikage
As far as the food, it was breathtaking. The highlights are the tuna sashimi and taretare, Tile fish, fresh eel and both the raw squid and grilled squid. This is not a typical sushi place but more traditional Japanese food. Reservations are required. A fantastic place and one that should not be missed
