Robert Biale

You always hear the negatives about places but i wanted to share a story about one of the positives. We have bought fro them for a few years ad gotten to know a couple people that work there. Anyway, my wife and I had a little girl about 12 weeks ago which I must have mentioned to them in a conversation and what did we get in the mail today… a black chicken onesie with a Robert Biale Vineyards logo on it. Of course we had to open a 05 Black Chicken in honor and it is drinking very nicely with the typical Biale style and fruit shining through. This wine is very good right now. Anyway, just wanted to share. Good folks there.

No affiliation and not in the industry.

Congratulations, Brad, and yes, that’s a great customer service story!

Biale has access to some of California’s best old vine grapes - and they do a fine job with them. I need to get reacquainted.

Love some of their Zins and PS, prices are steep but the wine can be 1st rate. Nice story and I was treated very well when there too.

I know this will piss some people off, but I’d rather drink a Biale Black Chicken than any Carlisle Zin.

Now I’m curious to try some…

BC is far from my fav or their offerings too. I really like Aldo’s and Old Crane Ranch as the best of their Zins with Monte Rosso and Stagecoach still ahead of Black Chicken.

Thanks Todd. We have had a lot of fun with her.

Ditto to Glenn. Black Chicken is good but the Old Crane and Aldo’s are fantastic. Only thing I really have not been a fan of is their Napa ranches and Stagecoach (yes they make a zin from stagecoach). You pay up but it is a very good zin. I ordered the PS for the first time and am dying to try.

Might I suggest a Lava Cap Rocky Draw Zinfandel or the new vineyard designate Lava Cap Spring House Zinfandel- the RD is slightly fuller in body but both are mouthfuls of delicious, well-balanced, spicy Zins from El Dorado appellation and better in price than RB.
