The 2020 vintage was our second at RIISE and I’m excited for you to taste it. Having a growing season under our belts, we were able to focus our efforts and make a play on our favorite vineyard blocks from 2019, which allowed us to showcase the very best of this vintage. The wines are supple and more approachable when compared to the 2019s or 2021s.
Allocations are now open for this release and include all four wines. However, production of Fermin, our reserve blend, was extremely limited, and so is its release. We have increased production of this wine in the 2021 vintage and look forward to offering it more widely then. The remaining three wines, Doyen (Grenache-based GSM), Peace (Syrah-based blend), and Jovian (Tempranillo-based blend) all range from 350-450 cases and are made from estate grown and purchased fruit from the west side of Paso Robles. Please use the wish list capability in your account if you’d like something beyond what was offered and we’ll do our best to fulfill your request. To ensure you receive wish list grants, please save your credit card to your account. Future allocations will be based on purchase history.
So 156 posts talking about Juan starting this new venture and zero all day since the release notice this morning. Now granted more than half the 156 posts were inquiries when the inaugural release will actually happen, but my has the shine faded off this one quick. I think it’s the nature of where things are at these days:
I’ll be honest, I missed the email with a bunch of family things going on. Just a busy time of year as it happens. I bagged a mixed 6 last time, I liked the one I pobega’d. I took shitty notes but it pointed to well enjoyed and up my alley.
This release, I’m looking at a cellar that is just overrun. I skipped things this year I didn’t ever think I would. Life happens but also I’m waist if not neck deep on bottles laying down for the offers I passed on. I like variety, its new, I may go 3 pack this year for science. I’m mulling it over.
Same deal here. I saw the email hit, saw someone posted about it here, and promptly forgot about it until now.
It is a good excuse to open a bottle and see if I actually like the wine.
One friend of mine purchased, and he is probably in the same boat as many of the others who also purchased - wanting to wait to open the wine but obviously having no idea whether to reorder since he hasn’t tasted.
Raul and I tried the 2019 Jovian & Peace last week and both were very open and ready to drink. Day 2 of drinking was just as good if not better than day 1 for both wines.
Hate to say, I’m passing on my allocation. First world problems aside, 55 to ship 3 bottles didn’t pass my bullshit detector, before tax. I was already thinking it was good but not necessary. Unfortunate.
