Rhode Island/Southeastern Mass

Hello all,

newhere I’ve lurked for a while, but I figure it is finally time to toss my hat into the ring.

Seeing as there is not a Rhode Island thread here, I would like to volunteer to captain this one. I’ll get the ball rolling with some BYOB places I know of in my area (Providence).

Guido’s, Providence

Italian “red sauce” place - classic comfort food. No corkage .

Angkor Restaurant, Providence
Thai/Cambodian

Abyssinia Ethiopian Comfort Food, Providence

Sakura Restaurant, Providence
Japanese

Not Just Snacks, Providence

Indian hole-in-the-wall joint. Think it’s like $10 corkage, but I will report back on that.

Cafe Andiamo, Johnston

Sophie’s Tuscan Grille, Warwick

I’m sure there are several more, so I am looking forward to seeing what people have to say.

My friends and I used to sneak cans of keystone light into Parentes in Smithfield, does that count?

Just to report that the very nice Thames Street Kitchen in Newport RI will close their doors Jan 1 2016. This reduces an already small BYOB restaurant population by one. Owners are looking to try out new ideas.

Do we have any updates for RI? Looking to do a day trip with some wine friends from Boston and would love a BYO spot

Corner Cafe in Newport is free (or very cheap) I believe. Best breakfast on island but dinner is solid as well (but nothing fancy)

Also Cru Cafe in newport which is good but is really a breakfast / lunch spot and more casual than corner cafe. Food is pretty good

Anyone know of BYO places on Martha’s Vineyard? I’ll try to check when I’m there.

Clarke Cooke House, Newport.

If you are a member of a private club with reciprocity privileges, ask Edgartown Yacht Club, which has great food, service, and venue.

Well, we are not boat people but thanks!

I did check while I was there and the Dunes at Winnetu Oceanside Resort was $25/btl. I’ll add more as we go.
