Planning on buying some wines from them because even with the shipping and import duties it’s a price I’m willing to pay. I had someone mention to me about them that I should be careful, but I was wondering if anyone has ordered from them in the US and what the experience was like?

I can’t say anything about international shipping, except that everyone has told me not to try it because you’re the importer of record and need to fill out forms and bottles can be held up at customs etc. I’d definitely ask everyone I know whether they had any plans to travel to London before trying to ship. Heck, I’ll be there in May and in SF in June–buy me a bottle at Hedonism and I’ll happily mule for you! 
I’d like to vouch for Hedonism as a first-rate operation in every respect. They have undoubtedly the greatest selection of any wine store in the world, and a remarkably knowledgeable, friendly, and accessible staff. But their one drawback, and it’s a big one, is that they tend to charge way above market. I visit every time I go to London (~3x a year), and have bought a grand total of 3 bottles from them in my life (mainly I just taste from their dispensers). Are the bottles you’re ordering really something you couldn’t find absolutely anywhere else? Their 1811 Yquem or 1923 Romanee Conti, perhaps?
Those dispensers are awesome. Not cheap, but fun. Last time, I tasted 08 Raveneau Clos, 07 Buisson Renard, and 65 Yquem.
Incredible store staffed by incredibly knowledgeable and helpful staff. Personally, I would trust them to sort out any transport issues for you.
I am surprised they sell wine cheaper than anyone else though…
I have indeed never seen a bottle there that wasn’t at least 2x market price, especially compared to US prices. The dispensers are indeed awesome though. But given the money behind the operation and its client list, I can’t imagine they wouldn’t solve shipping problems for you, if you’re willing to put in the time viz. customs.
We have worked with them in the past, with them shipping over some rare items. Impeccable service and top-notch operation with excellent staff. If they have what you’re looking for, at a price you’re comfortable with, I wouldn’t hesitate to use them.

Update:
Worked with Tatiana via email. Someone from the store called me to collect my credit card information. Spoke perfectly accented american english, btw. The wine arrived in perfect shape 2 days later.
I have to say they were very professional and communicated very well, and handled all the customs and stuff on their end, and I would happily recommend them to anyone in the US who is considering purchasing from them.
Also, their listed prices include the British Value Added Tax (VAT). So my price was obviously less, and I think that knocked about 20% off the listed price.
