well thank; apparently no one else has either.

Just tried to order from them. Apparently, the order needs to be “approved”. They came back and removed 7 of the 13 bottles ordered without an explanation. When asked, the reply was “we don’t allocate the most desired items on a first-come first-served basis”. Well, f-off! They don’t need me, I don’t need them either.

ew.

Apparently they’re an importer as well.
The company I work for has been picking up a bit from them the last year, but I’m not a buyer and I don’t know the story.
Distributor is Canopy in Brooklyn, who also distributes Golden Vines <3 and a bunch of other stuff.

They have some solid producers - but a complete assclown website
Scroll down and try to read without laughing Clos & Monopole. Dream big, drink well

I am guessing they are

  • based in France
  • have a couple connections
  • trying to play the importer game
  • will be out of business in 10 years

Update: omfg they have an app.

At least they are honest about it.

Can I land my helicopter at the winery?

I’m glad you asked!

“… during exceptional sporting, cultural, or creative moments.”

I’m picturing tastings at Super Bowl tailgate parties.

So, do you know enough now to make an informed decision, Neal?

I suppose so, since I decided not to bite. Not that I don’t trust the source, but between the unknowns and the fact that I need more wine like I need another new book about the NY subway system, when the authoritative volume already exists, there was simply no urge to strike
