Anyone have any insight on this producer based out of Cali?

TIA

Had dinner early last year with one of the owners her in Dallas at Pappa’s Brothers Steakhouse. Wines were good, not great. Wouldn’t go out of my way to hunt them down. My $.02.

Remembering like a Syrah once. I bought two bottles and forgot about them. Tried one years later and it was awful. They also make a pretty horrific Tempranillo.

Yeah, that tempranillo was horrid. Thanks for reminding me.

These guys use that consultant who guarantees a recipe for a “96pt WA” wine. [stirthepothal.gif] I forget the name of the firm but they’re out of Napa.

The wines are impressive when young and fall apart fairly quickly. I like the whites (Viognier, Grenache Blanc) the best.

I have had a few I liked - I think one was a red blend - Palaterra.
FWIW the PLCB has them as one of the Chairmans Selections for $14 and they have the Granache Blanc for $16.

Grenache Blanc is very good. Syrahs are okay/good, though I wouldn’t go far out of my way for them. Ownership doesn’t lack for confidence.
