Reducing humidity in freestanding wine fridge

Hi

I have a Transtherm Ermitage wine fridge in my apartment and noticed today that the humidity in the fridge is almost 80% and all of the bottles are “wet”.

How do I best reduce the humidity level and keep it there? For the moment I thought I would keep the door open for an hour or so.

I don’t know that model. But when I had the same issue it was because of a problem with the seal.

Opening it won’t help.

Are bottles touching any vents or important-looking components? Do any bottles need removing to make sure air is flowing properly?

De humidifier bags on amazon. And dont open and close the fridge door with high frequency.

At the back wall a cable and a stiffer feeling wire was hanging loose. Tucked it one side. Let’s see if that makes a difference.

Good tip.

I had that issue when I overloaded mine. I took some excess I stuffed in it out and it solved the issue

Thanks guys. Tried a few of these tricks and the humidity level is down to 70%.

Will also add a couple of dehumidifier bags today and hopefully that brings it down to 65%.

I had this problem early on in owning my Eurocaves. Too many bottles were touching the back wall & sides (prohibiting circulation of air). You may also need to replace your charcoal filters. I’ve found that clearing the unit out once a year (spring or fall…sometimes both).

Good luck, this can get tricky.

Humidity is back to around 65%. I think there were two culprits :

  1. I had a couple of bottles with a cardboard box
  2. I had removed the bottom shelf to store magnums/ champagne bottles and those were all touching the back wall

Thanks all for your help with troubleshooting.
