A bit about us for those not-in-the-know: We are located in the Finger Lakes, the wine region that keeps quietly making bottles that embarrass pricier wines in blind tastings… then politely pretends it was an accident. This is where the lakes are long, the Riesling is legendary, and every vintage comes with just enough “Finger Lake-effect” chaos to keep the winemakers humble.

The 2019 vintage was a great vintage in the Finger Lakes. Warm, dry days with cool nights, the diurnal shifts helped preserve our natural acid while allowing physiological ripeness to occur.
2019 Dry Riesling This wine is showing lovely fruit, backed by an acid backbone that livens up the wine, allowing for great aging. Overnight skin contact with fermentation in tanks and neutral barrels. RS: 0.4%
2019 The Knoll Dry Riesling - A well-known parcel, sitting on sandy loam. Makes powerful and aromatic Rieslings. Overnight skin contact with extended aging in large format barrels and stainless tanks. 94pts, JamesSuckling.com June 2022
2019 Tango Oaks Vineyard Dry Riesling - Alsatian clone Riesling grown in extremely gravelly soil creates a mineral-driven expression of Riesling. Ages beautifully.

2015 Glacier Ridge Vineyard Cabernet Franc -
2013 Lahoma Vineyards Riesling - Off-dry, with the age to mellow the sweetness. Lahoma produces fruit remniscent of tangerine and sweet oranges. Modelled off a German Kabinett, this wine is well-balanced with lower alcohol. RS: 3.9%, Alcohol 8.9%

Winemaking :
We hired a new winemaker, Christina Zapel, in 2023. Previously from working at Flowers Vineyards & Winery on the Sonoma Coast, she relocated to the Finger Lakes. She believes in letting the wine and terroir speak. The wines are fermented with native yeast and native malolactic fermentation, practicing minimal intervention in the cellar to allow the grapes to express the vintage and terroir of when and where they were grown.

Tango Oaks Vineyard : Gravelly soil growing Alsatian clones of Riesling. Mineral-driven styles. Styles made:
Riesling - Dry styles and extended lees aging available.
Noble Dry - Late-harvest grapes fermented dry. Super geeky, intriguing and highly recommended.
Ice Wine - Made in just a few select years, 2015/2017/2019.
Late-Harvest (dessert wine, just not ice wine). Made in just a few select years.
Glacier Ridge Vineyards makes excellent, fuller-bodied reds than most Finger Lakes red wines. The site is scraggly, with shallow soils that make the vines struggle. Low-yields gives us highly concentrated and tannic red fruit.

2023 Glacier Ridge Syrah - Elegant, cool climate expression of Syrah. As one wine friend said, “this slaps”.
Lahoma Vineyards is a special site located on the west side of Seneca Lake. The Knoll is a special site within Lahoma Vineyards, planted on sandy loam that distinguishes the block from the rest of the vineyard and is known to make powerful and aromatic Riesling. All wines see overnight skin contact before pressing during harvest, with extended lees aging and lees stirring. These wines cause quite a stir and consistently rank amongst the best. Our particular favorites are 2015/2017/2020.
2020 The Knoll Dry Riesling - “Still very youthful and quite yeasty, this needs some aeration to open up, but the spectrum of fruit aromas goes right through the range of citrus and stone fruits, plus delicate notes of exotic fruit. Stunning concentration, racy acidity and wet-stone minerality on the incredibly focused palate. Literally breathtaking brilliance at the finish. This took more than two years to finish fermentation, but that long walk along a knife edge worked spectacularly well.” 98 pts, Stuart Pigott for James Suckling, listed on Top 100 Wines of 2023.
