Recommendations for a good Rosé Champagne?

Our Niece is getting married, and we want to celebrate with a good Rosé Champagne - but these are not huge wine enthusiasts, so we don’t want to break the bank doing so either. I’m leaning toward NV Gosset Grand Rosé, but that’s more due to familiarity than anything else (I’m not a champers expert by any stretch, and damn has the price risen on the Gosset! but that’s around the max I’d like to pay, but will go higher if justified).

What are some of your recommendations?

Laherte Freres Rose de Meunier is wonderful for about $45 a bottle

Billecart Rose’ always a favorite

This. All day long.

“Have you tried the Billecart?” Try Camille Saves.

Yeah. If you’re willing to spend for Gosset you might as well step into Camille Saves. It’s excellent. I’ve put it in front of geek and non-geek alike. I think Billecart is usually to pricey for the quality these days. Goutorbe is a good choice if you want to go a bit bigger in fruit expression.

Hebrart or Coutier among the indies (the former a gentler style, the latter bolder), Billecart if you need one you can pick up anywhere.

I like that Laherte, sometimes, and the label is just gorgeous, but I think super-dry meunier might be a bit of an acquired taste and not for everyone.

Paul Dethune if you can get enough of it

That’s a fair take, may not be for everyone. The Billecart would be the opposite, guaranteed crowd pleaser really.

Another great option would be Paul Bara Special Club Rose if you can find it.

You didn’t say for how many or a budget, but Billicart for me.

Laherte Freres already mentioned, Paul Bara Special Club Rosé is another good one.

Great advice! I drank the LF this weekend, and while it was good, I think I would rather drink the Saves or Pierre Moncuit NV rosés. My only disclaimer, I was drinking a bunch of 2002 big boy Champagnes, so might have given a slight downgrade comparatively.

This is lovely!

Congratulations and for many happy years to come! In terms of a pretty much ‘guaranteed’ crowd pleasing rosé, I would agree that the gosset grand rosé NV is a great one. I would personally hesitate re BS because I noticed far greater release variations than I personally would like. Personally, I also tried the Herbert ('17 based, IIRC) few weeks ago which was surprisingly well for its young age. I’d add one of my favorites Pierre Paillard rosé to the list you can get at the same price range.
Overall, you have a very good set of options in similar price ranges. I don’t think you’d go wrong (fwiw I just checked my notes, and for gosset NV and pierre paillard I opened for guests more than one case of each over the years with consistent happy crowds).

I see both the Gosset and the BS in similar price ranges, so you can go with either. Like Charlie, I like Savas and Pierre Moncuit. Invino actually has the Moncuit at $36/btl. with free shipping on 3. If you don’t want to break the bank, that is as about as good as as you’ll get QPR wise.

Congrats to your niece!

Getting harder to find, but Ployez-Jacquemart Rose is pretty good.

It’s a bit more than some of the bottles listed but Chartogne-Taillet’s rose is exceptional IMO.

Louis Nicaise Brut Rosé is very enjoyable. I don’t know how easy it is to find in the States. It should be under 40$.
