Here in Gold Beach, OR lies Anna’s by the Sea. Really sweet list with very friendly pricing.
Disclaimer, proprietor and I have become friends. Considering the above how could we not?

On the humbler side:
Here in Nashville, there’s a great BBQ place (Jim n’ Nick’s) with a tiny but thoughful wine list. The only Chardonnay is Saintsbury Carneros ($29), and the only Zinfandel is Seghesio Sonona County ($31), both of which are only about $8-$9 above retail. On Wednesdays, wine is half off by the bottle, so my wife and I make it a weekly (or at least bi-weekly) ritual. Life doesn’t such when you’re enjoying fantastic BBQ with a Seghesio Zin for $16.50.
Maybe we could all bold/italicize our restaurant’s location to make a thread a real resource for members?
Trouquet in Boston, crazy good list at a modest markup. These prices are hard to beat.
I’d be willing to bet a nice bottle, that NO restaurant can beat the markup, as well as a nice albeit small variety at Upstairs 2 in West L.A. (located above Wine House). The food (tapas) is pretty good as well!
Even if you want to bring a bottle, corkage is $15 (or $10 if buying the bottle from Wine House)

With these prices, I don’t think ANYONE can disagree. I’m pretty confident…
Kudos to Philadelphia’s “Friday, Saturday, Sunday” restaurant. Nice little neighborhood place that for years has kept their mark-ups down to approx 2x retail. List

Passion Fish in the Monterey CA area has a nice, reasonabley priced list.
They say they do 50-80% markup.
Cucina Enoteca in Irvine (at the Spectrum) has good pricing, but it’s supposedly because it is also a wine shop. You buy the wine at highish-retail pricing, pay a small corkage fee, and the prices turn out to be about full retail, slightly higher.
Here’s the wine list for the Irvine location. The older bottles are not so great price-wise, but the current vintages are good for restaurant wine buys Urban Kitchen Group | Our Restaurants
Pearl & Ash in NYC.
Northampton Wines in Greenville, SC.
Wine shop with a bar and a restaurant.
$10 corkage on any bottle that you buy there or bring in. A great place to go.
Was there last weekend. Drank a 2011 Gonon St Joe Red for $51. Retail is in the mid-$40s. And the food is great

Thanks for reminding me of this place Todd, been twice and really couldn’t believe what a great deal they have on wines. I like that most of the seating is at a bar or communal (do have a tables as well) and their food is very good, not great. I HATE getting gouged on wine at restaurants!
Very happy to have a couple of wines on the list and knowing what I sold them the wines for, it’s a pleasure to buy one of my wines for dinner.
Love the jars, grilled octopus, polenta/Ragu but the oven roasted fish is my absolute favorite!
Pearl and Ash’s markups only seem reasonable because we’ve been desensitized by the standard 3x retail markup in NYC. But most of the list is 2x retail (some better, some worse). At that markup, you’re still better off going somewhere you can pay corkage most of the time. NYC has nothing like Passionfish where the markups are consistently 1.5x retail or better.
This was at the Legal Seafood at the Burlington mall outside of Boston, MA at $95. Sure, not among the best of CC, but was thrilled to share this with family at a great list price.

Come on out Mike, it’s a fun first night out!
I bet it is. Could be a fun night even if they don’t have Cali wines on the lists…
There’s always beer.
+1
