Ravenswood library offer

If anyone doesn’t want their allocation, I’d like to use it if you feel like sharing.

If it’s like the other library offerings it will be FCFS.

I’m obviously too old and out of touch. What does FCFS mean?

Offer live. Picked up a 3-pack. At $150/mag, it’s a screaming deal based on all the library wines I’ve had.

Made it easy for me to pass by not having shipping options.

Yeah. On one hand, a bummer. On the other, thank God I don’t have to find space in the cellar!

Was wish list only by the time I got there. Just as well I have plenty of wine.

It was wish list from the get go so far as I could tell. I clicked the link less than 5 seconds after the email arrived.

I still don’t need any

Just checked and open now to order up to 2 of the 3 packs

I clicked through in time to have the option to purchase 2, but after a moment of indecision passed given how rarely I open magnums + the shipping hassle + uncertainty on what you’d actually receive as far as mix of grapes and appellations. Glad to see it sold through though!

Had to pass. Hope these found good homes.

When the email came through, I had the option to grab two 3-packs, but my “conscience” happened to be standing over my shoulder. She reminded me that we have more than enough wine, including plenty of large formats, and said I should pass. By the time she left the house and I had a chance to log back in, the sold out email had arrived. I’d have liked a 3-pack, although if I am being honest, the standard bottles from these library releases have shown better than the mags I opened from the last large format release.

Received my 3-pack of 1.5’s today:

1996 Merlot Sangiocomo

2000 Merlot Donnell

2001 Zinfandel Napa Valley

Now to decide which one to open first…

Had 2001 Big River zin the last two nights, from one of the earlier tranches. Zin-identifiable fruit was gone, but it was not just “old red wine” flavors and aromas either. A classic example of a “claret like” old zin as some fruit was still present to go with the tertiary notes, but that fruit could have passed for old cab. Held up fine on night two. Not excellent at this point, but very good, and well worth the library release cost.
