1993 Sonoma County cab tonight for my 1993 daughter’s birthday. 2/3 “old red wine,” 1/3 fruit hanging in there. Nice.

Took the mag of 1998 Gregory Cab to a friend’s house this past Saturday.
Opened the bottle later afternoon and took a sip and tasted a bit “funky” with prunes/plums being the most noticeable to me. Wasn’t sure how it would end up tasting, but color was good and good amount of fruit. So, I double decanted back into the bottle and corked it back up. I brought two 750s as backup in case the wine was not good.
Not needed, as it had changed quite a bit. Smooth and well integrated fruit, with the prunes/plum receded. Everyone loved it. I have not had a bad bottle of these library releases.

A 1979 Zin that was drinking beautifully. I think this bottle would still be drinking well for several more years.

Lovely color!
popped open a 1995 Icon (etched bottle) Sunday evening to celebrate my first ever hole-in-one and it did not disappoint. cork fully intact thx to the Ah-so, still deep color, no sign of bricking, tannins now fully in the background yielding to a smooth profile. And still completely intact on night 2, which surprised me a little bit in a great way. very nice wine…

well, what can I say, par 3 playing 190yrds. flag in a valley, so unfortunately none of us saw it go in. but we knew it had a chance. found the ball in the bottom of the cup!!! thx!
