Quivet Cellars Project X Mike Smith/Russell Bevan Collaboration

2 of my favorite wine makers. Not buying much wine these days, but this is a definite buy.

2024 Quivet Cellars Project X

Conceived as a true boundary-pushing collaboration, it brings together Mike Smith and Russell Bevan, each contributing the single best Cabernet barrel from his cellar in pursuit of something neither could make alone. Bottles like this do not come along through routine, they happen when two legends decide to put the absolute summit of their cellars on the line. Project X is a skyscraper of a wine, towering, saturated, and unapologetically hedonic, yet carried by impossible elegance, with hyper-pure, liqueured black and blue fruit, hyper-velvet tannin, and a finish that seems to gather momentum rather than fade. It is monumental. It is exacting. It is utterly singular. Only 200 three-packs produced.

Any guess on price point?? Gotta be high

$900 for the 3 pack?

Given Napa market pricing, that would probably be “fair”, but I would not be surprised to see it be significantly north of there given the pedigree of winemakers/ fruit sources and aura of exclusivity.

When is the release date? I haven’t been on Quivets mailing list for awhile but wondering if I sign back up.

This is a Pre Release offering, available first to our Loyal Supporters. Any remaining inventory will be offered to New Members one week later.

Loyal Supporters Offer Opens: March 24
New Members Offer Opens: March 31

I found an image on the Quivet website that says $750 for the three pack.

Pass. If it’s their best lots, why isn’t it priced even higher than their other offerings? This is just getting silly now

The Las Piedras Shiverick Reserve is Quivet’s most expensive bottling at $225 per bottle. On a per bottle price it is their highest priced bottle (just barely). I for one am happy they kept the price at a reasonable level.

This bottling appears to be a barrel from the Lerner Project and Quivet. The vineyard sources are not divulged on the Quivet site. Possible Tench / Las Piedras blend? Just guessing here.
