quick visit to Burgundy to taste some 2015's

It sounds like the only thing we will get everyone to agree on is that 2015s will be priced outrageously.

It’s probably far too early to pronounce any judgments, but reading across the various views it seems to me it will be a “typical” burgundy vintage for buyers - i.e. buy what you know you will like, taste beforehand if you can, because quality will be uneven. Not like '99, '05 and '10 where you had to look really hard to find bad wines. The good thing about them likely to be priced outrageously is it will make Bdx, Piemonte and Northern Rhone look more attractive :slight_smile:!

If that is really the case, I’ll be running for the hills. I’ve only talked to one producer (in Volnay), whose judgment I trust, and who said he absolutely loved his 15s. But remembering the temperatures I was monitoring throughout that summer, I’m still concerned the wines will be riper than I prefer.
