Question....my `83 Mas Amiel Reserve?

Digging around in the cellar, I came across a`83 Mas Amiel Reserve from Charles Dupuy. I think it was purchased from La Vigneronne in London but not positive.
Anyone care to venture an opinion?!

I have drank 1980 Mas Amiel recently and it was delicious and I mean OUTSTANDING!

Since you asked for people to venture an opinion, I’ll take a stab. Mas Amiel is a producer of Maury. I’m assuming Charles Dupuy is a Canadian broker (?) or some such third party (or is that the family name of the producer?). The wine I expect would be cask aged for several years, then bottled, so that it’s tawny in color and intentionally oxidized and hopefully delicious. I’ve found old Mas Amiel’s to be a bit sweet without enough balance to match the best old Banyuls that I adore. Haven’t had this one, but I’d serve it with chocolate or on its own for dessert. I’d love to try it, hopefully that says enough. Report back on how it turns out.

Vincent, Charles Dupuy is the producer. I am intending to open on Thursday at a Grenache tasting downtown!

Thanks for the clarification. I even remember reading that wine doctor post, so go figure. newhere
