Q&F Group Zuhai, China - Anyone done business?

Hi all, I was contacted by the famous Kenny from Q&F in Feb. They sent us a big order proposal, didn’t argue about pricing and took a draft contract from us with few changes, namely the legal base should be HK and a low % of up front payment. They requested we visit to ‘finalise’ the details of the contract, but we could never get clarity about what needed to be finalised. I asked for info from them, what do you do, which brands do you reperesent etc and was sent a PP including brands like Evian, Oatly and Pringles, or rather it had fotos of these brands without actually saying what the relationship was. When i checked I could not verify that Q&F group has distribution rights for a single western brand in China, let alone those in the document i was sent. I therefore asked for a mail stating clearly which brands they have distribution rights to, not a big deal you may think. I got bluff and bluster, ‘its big business / confidential info, you’ll lose the order’ etc. I do reflect that if we had signed a contract (even with sales and order termination targets) they could easily block our entry into the Chinese market through brand rights, keeping us in the HK Chinese courts for god knows how long. I could imagine having to pay a big termination of contract payment to get back control of the brand or to distribute to someone else. I have worked for a Multinational in China, combating this type of activity is hugely costly and time consuming. In China, foreign companies are fair game. We are doing some more checks with old contacts, maybe Kenny is just a bit thick… but it doesn’t look good. I will keep this blog updated if i find out anything concrete.

Hi All, a short update. I have had feedback from 2 contacts, firstly, one who works in China today with various projects. He has not heard of Q&F but believes that the conditions and process are unusual to the extreme, however this type of scam is not unusual. Secondly, an old colleague who was a supermarket purchaser in China, he has a contact who has heard of Q&F, his exact words were ‘they are scammers’. You now have the info i have. we will not be flying to Shanghai.

Hi, thanks for your update. I’m still receiving sporadic updates from Fulicloud, it would be great to email you directly. My email is greenscarlett@mail.com , please drop me a note if ok to exchange intel. All the best.

We met with QF Shenzhen in an office that seems legit. Luckily i was in the city for other business meeting so not much risk and the building is super nice/secure in my opinion.
Numerous emails and some documents to sign.
They asked for 360,000 bottles of 3 of our SKUs. so 1M bottles

The sketchy part is now they ask to pay for sample testing 1K which we always deny. We always tell our clients to pay fees and we are happy to discount the amount from the first order payment ! Obviously QF denied. Prior the office meeting they suggested to bring cash to pay for testing fees. Which raised my first flag but again i was 20 minutes from the office so I said i will give it a try !

I guess the scheme for them is to make you pay fees and fees. Surely some businesses fall into the trap.
Still talking to them to kind of entertain until i found the real scheme and purahps we can find the truths.

Regards.

FYI investigation from government related person below. I think it clarfies the whole things

*Q&F Group Ltd. was registered in Hong Kong in 2019, but the company has been dissolved.

*FULICLOUD was a trademark it once registered. The company seal shown in the attached file bears this company’s Chinese name, which should not be used since the company no longer exists.

*Zhuhai Quanfu Business Co., Ltd. was registered in 2022 in Zhuhai City. The office you visited appears to belong to its subsidiary in Shenzhen, which was registered in December 2024. These two cities are geographically close to each other. I also visited its website — it claims to be involved in a too wide range of businesses, which seems unrealistic. I tried calling their listed business line, but no one answered. I also found that the company has paid no social insurance for its staff, which suggests it might be a one-person operation.
