Opened a bottle I recently purchased retail at Wegmans. The capsule looked fine but it had puncture in the cork, any thoughts on what caused this?
Looks like someone stuck in a Durand and then pulled it out. Noting noticeably wrong with the wine other than that I’m drinking this way too young.

Hard to say what mark was in the cork before you extracted it…
Coravin I thought would create a circular puncture… not the wedge at the bottom of the cork?
I used a corkscrew so that’s the hole in the center of the top of the cork but that didn’t go all the way through, something else caused that puncture through the bottom of the cork before I opened it.
