Four couples just completed a trip to Provence, Paris with two couples continuing on to Normandy.
Let’start with Paris. We stayed at the Padam Hotel near the Arc de Triomphe. A small boutique hotel that was on a quiet street with smaller rooms but a very reasonable price point. Two tours we took that I highly recommend, Paris by Mouth food tour in St. Germaine and an evening dinner cruise on the Seine.
In Avignon we stayed at the La Demoiselle bed and breakfast. This lovely B&B has a great location with spacious rooms. The owner is very helpful with recommendations,I highly suggest Bibendum for dinner.
We then proceeded to our villa at Le Charmes which was booked via the tour operator “Food and Wine Provence”. The villa was beautiful and our daily tours throughout Provence were fanatastic. Our tour guide, Marlene Boyer, was exceptional and the daily tours gave us a great mix of local markets, scenery and a feel for the local culture.
In Normandy we stayed at a fantastic hotel , Villa Lara in Bayeux. Our guide was Malcolm Clough. We toured for two days with Malcolm and we enjoyed every minute of it. His knowledge and detail were just what we wanted.
