Prosecco Rec Please

Typically it’s <$30

Andreola is very good. Drink through their range and say there is no good Prosecco and I say stop smoking that stuff

Adami makes also solid stuff as well as Nino Franco and few others. I also think the sweet spot lies in Rives and not in the Cartizze bottlings

This might not be much help but I was doing my research for this recently.

The one I’m dying to try because Greg Dal Piaz speaks very highly of them is Col Vetoraz. As you see in the link, he calls their Cuvee 5 Extra Brut (5 g/L) gorgeous, a “re imagination of what Prosecco can and should be” and the best bottle of Prosecco he’s had. But it is almost impossible to find in the US.

If you don’t mind more sugar (24 g/L), then both he and Monica Larner recommend the Col Vetoraz Superiore di Cartizze as well. He says it’s “on another level” and she says it is spectacular and “a bright star in a large sea of commercial Prosecco that floods foreign markets.”

Let us know if you try them, please.

Because they’re so hard to find though, I ended up buying an Adami Vigneto Giardino that I have yet to try but seems usually well-received and more widely available.

completely agree; our house Prosecco

In general, I’ve found the Valdobbiadene proseccos to be relatively dry and have some real flavor interest. The zone is hilly, and the wines bear no resemblance to the oceans of sweet swill produced by vineyards on the Po plains.

Best I’ve had (and I definitely haven’t tasted widely) is the Il Fortunato that Chambers St. carries. A delightful wine. The fact that it’s under $15 is just a bonus.

Ordered a few new Prosecco using wine.com coupons and cashbacks:

Adami Bosco di Gica Prosecco Superiore
Andreola Col del Forno Prosecco

Italian Sparkling:
Ferrari Brut Trento
Berlucchi '61 Brut Rose (WS top 100)

Looking forward to trying these. They will be “open anytime” sparkling wines.

Col Vetoraz and Bisol Crede Brut are excellent, more “serious” Prosecco. I think you could track down both at a decent local wine store or online.
