Prosecco help

Big family gathering coming up and I am told that the lady of the evening (my MIL) “loves prosecco.” My experience is limited and mostly unhappy, and I am afraid the very thing she likes is the thing I don’t – the sweetness in most bottles I’ve tried.

Anyway, if you can recommend decent makers for me to try and ultimately buy in bilk (big crowd) I’d be grateful.

Strictly speaking not Prosecco, but I got my sister a number of cases of Bisson’s Bianco delle Venezie for her wedding (from Rosenthal). Went over quite well.

I like the Canella Superiore version…smashable

I like Riondo as a simple, dry Prosecco. Nino Franco Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore Rustico has a touch of sweetness and good flavor. I suspect it will appeal to your MIL. Unless she likes sweeter than that, then I’d go with Moscato d’Asti.

No one knows what brands she likes?

I was hoping Ken would. Seriously she probably likes the one on the end cap at Safeway. She is, to put it mildly, NOT a wine person.

Is this someone I once dated?

Zardetto is available in quantity in pretty much every Total Wine in the country.

We haven’t seen Bisson or Nino Franco down here in forever, but they’re both very nice drinks [or at least they were, back in the day].

And for dessert, your sweetie has to be Paolo Saracco Moscato d’Asti [also available in pretty much every Total Wine in the country].

If it weren’t for Zardetto & Paolo Saracco, then I would have given up hope for this infernal hobby a long time ago.

But so long as you can walk into Total Wine and grab both Zardetto & Paolo Saracco, then not all hope is lost.

Thank you all. I have what I need, I think

Nino Franco for sure. It can be difficult to find though, as some but not many Total Wines have it.
