I’m interested in sharing / tasting wines. I’m wondering if there is an existing club or some clearing-house web-site that lists such a thing by city? My feeble search efforts got me to a liaison with private golf clubs… they had the word “club” correct. Any thoughts welcome of course.

Meanwhile, you can check out some local meetups in the “Event Planner” section here. I’ve also been hosting tastings at my house, sometimes with WB folks and sometimes with other friends, and would love to do that more regularly - feel free to message me if you wanna organize something. I’ve got one coming up themed around food and wine of Argentina that’s posted in the Event Planner section here, and there are a few coming up in SF listed there as well. There’s also an excellent East Bay riesling group, if you like riesling.
Edited to ask - what’s not quite right about your current tasting group? Might help folks to make suggestions.

Mostly a lurker here, but I’m also interested in something in Oakland. I got into this with one of my good friends who lives in El Cerrito. I’m sure he’d also be down. Can’t say that we have a lot of knowledge in wine yet, but eager to share our spoils!

Another Oaklander here! Also in Rockridge. I have an informal group with some other elementary school parents (admittedly all dads). It has been around a few years and I’ve slowing been taking it over as the attendees are mostly just dipping their toes in the water. Rough and hectic year so I haven’t participated in anything arising out of the this board, but would like to try to attend more events.
I’m in Oakland (Montclair area) and would love to join. Been lurking for a while here. I don’t have a ton of expertise, but I’m gradually learning and this sounds like a great way to learn and have fun.

Susie started a thread called “Oakland Wine Club” and new comments may pop up there rather than here. Our first ?event? is tentatively 12/14, 4:30 at Forge (Oakland, College Ave, Rockridge). I think I’m on point for confirming with Forge. When I do that I’ll probably start a new event thread and copy everyone who’s expressed interest. But you might want to follow that Oakland Wine Club thread just in case.
