@T1_Ng0 Ancient Wine Guys working hard!

Prima Materia is my go-to for food friendly and thought-provoking wines. Can’t remember how many bottles of the dark rosé of Barbera and Algianico I crushed with charcuterie plates over the summer. Dangerously delicious and glupable.

Grilling steaks? Boom, Pietro’s aged Aglianico comes to the rescue.
Pizza or pasta night? Barbera’s there.
Also did you know that Thomas Jefferson loved Nebbiolo and Piemontese Nebbiolo were lighter and brighter back in the day? Take a trip back in the time machine and try the Carbonic Nebbiolo.

Check out this man’s wines! They are legit and fit for any occasion.

That is a great thing about the Ancient Wine Guys club too - really neat wines, but because they are Old World you also get all the minerality and minimal if any oak. Just pure scrumptuous brilliance!

We had a question about the 2022 vintage, and I wrote a vintage that covered some of the specific wine characteristics and also some interesting industry news in the blog section or at:
https://www.prima-materia.com/post/vintage-report-2022-from-prima-materia

And just had another question on Sagrantino - we do a deep dive here:

I really can’t pass this up. I’ve long thought that were the US wine industry re-starting starting today rather than in 1966, people would be planting Italian grapes in much of California, rather than Bordeaux grapes.

And Sagrantino of all things! And carbonic Nebbiolo.

Can’t wait to try them.

Funny someone mentioned the Ancient Wine Guys. They’re the other purchase I’ve made so far. More to come.

Thanks Greg! Yes I often wonder what might have happened if French cultivars hadn’t dominated the plantings in California. Chardonnay from zero to hero in 20 years rather than Fiano or Vermentino!

In for one “Try Us Out” 6-pack. Soooo excited to sample some of these unique wines. Today is the first time I’ve encountered you, and love that you’re exploring lesser known varietals! Cheers from chilly, snowy, Wisconsin! :grinning:
