Picked one up for 30 bucks, I wasn’t real sure of the product for frying because of the final temp it would reach.
My trial run only acheived 340 degrees with 2 qts of canola oil. So i thought it was a waste. But after a few runs, not going to be to bad.
Its simple to use, easy to clean and very neat to store.
Uses so far, I can do my blanch, for my first cook in fries 250 ish.
Yesterday made walleye nuggets… perfectly done!!

For this amateur, can you tell me recommended oil temps for frying:
French fries
Fish like perch or walleye
Chicken wings.
Thx
Fries-Generally a two fry , now this is me.
3/8-1/2 inch fry—250 F for about 7-8 mins( canola oil ) …till they float. Drain, cool or freeze ( helps build a better crust ). I then will re-fry @ about 375 F till golden brown.
My walleye or pan fish( I’m a mid-west boy )! — the 340/350 F worked great!!
What I did, for an excellent crusty fish-- { Flour- beaten egg or two with teaspoon or 2 of water-Breading }
Breading-- Italian Homemade bread crumbs/ salt/ blk pepper/ cayenne pepper/ grana padana grated cheese
Chx wings – I’ll let someone else chime in.
