In early years, they were influenced by the modernist trend in Piedmont, but beginning in 2012, the son, Achille, having raised the family’s restaurant to Michelin-starred status, took the reins at the winery. What followed was a striking transformation that leaves Boroli as a source of immaculately farmed, classicly styled Nebbiolos that are still largely unknown by collectors. Reg $260, Now $145 Click to Buy Here	Wine Explorers Club - Emmanuel Rouget Cros Parantoux 2pk - 2014 and 2015 The historic plot made famous by Henri Jayer, the tradition carried on brilliantly by his descendants. 97-99 points, Neal Martin, Wine Advocate The 2015 Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Cros Parantoux, raised entirely in new oak, has a very clean and precise, yet incredibly intense bouquet, layers of red and black fruit loaded with minerals, all with wonderful precision. The palate is extremely precise, perhaps one of the nose I have encountered in recent years, with laser-like focus, perfect acidity and a gentle grip on the Richebourg-like finish that lingers long in the mouth. This is a stunning Cros Parantoux, stunning. (NM) 95 points, Neal Martin, Wine Advocate The 2014 Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Cros Parantoux, of which there are seven barrels this year, has a beautifully defined bouquet, very pure and precise with wild strawberry, limestone, rose petal and a touch of blood orange. You miss a heartbeat just nosing this wine. The palate is precise, refined and very pure, a silver bead of acidity, so much energy on the finish as it fans out in graceful fashion. Historically, this clone/cousin was known for its exquisite perfume, tender texture and luminous color. High-end Nebbiolo complexity with a gentle friendliness one might more reasonably expect from the Cote d’Or. I was tasting this wine last night and spit some out to evaluate some other wines.
