I’m building a wine cellar as part of a major kitchen remodel. The wine cellar is going right next to the dining room, so I am prioritizing looks as well. That being said, the space is long and narrow (20’x5’) so it won’t be a entertaining cellar, just a visible functional cellar. I’m using Vigilant for the racks and their design service. I’m going with mahogany wood, but I can’t figure out the stain color. Their standard options are not what I want. They have a sample gallery with one (I believe from Ipswich, MA) that has the exact color I want… but of course it was a customer provided stain and they don’t know what it is. Below are three images of the example cellar.
Wineberserkers would be the greatest asset in the history of the world if this is a board member’s actual cellar and they can tell me what color the stain is. Barring that, are there any wood experts who know what color stain that is?
I tried ChatGPT and it said it was mahogany or dark cherry stain on either red mahogany or alder wood. I don’t think that is right though as the images seem more dark honey/brown than red. Could be the lighting though.
