Post-Maria's Supper with TV

Tonight after lunch at Maria’s, we had cheese, raisins, and nuts with Zinfandel while watching Dr. Who (via TiVo). The zin was a 1995 Boeger Eldorado Zinfandel Walker Vineyard - fill mid-neck; cork just touched on the bottom; rich, ripe berries in nose and flavors; balanced mid-palate with barely adequate acidity and light tannins; and a medium ripe berry finish. Cheeses were Chaumes, Hudson Valley Sheeps’ Milk Camembert, Goat Boucheron, and Drunken Goat. Raisins were TJ’s Jumbo Raisin Medley and nuts were WF deluxe mixed nuts and Mesilla Valley fresh pecans. It was all a good combination on a still quite warm evening.
