In acronymic honor of the way the current geopolitical winds are blowing, I propose

Port, Random & Cheese (PRC) Night on Wed Jan 15 in Astoria, Queens, NY

Bring a minimum of One Port + One Random Wine (your choice!).

Enjoy the freedom (while you can!) to decadently mix and match these delicious products of the hard-won laboring classes with nary a thought about the heavy hand of state control.

Location: Bier and Cheese Collective in Astoria, queens, NY

The owner, Rick, plans on being there, and is a bon vivant of the highest order!

Evening will run from 630-930pm…

Food cost: Less than $60 per head including tax+tip! Corkage: $15/bottle. Unlimited bottles (within reason!, let’s say 4 if you want to go bonkers). Bring your own stems (they have glasses if we run out, but it’s a beer focused place).

Here is the restaurant location at 35-11 Ditmars Blvd, Queens, NY 11105 right by the NW subway or a short taxi from midtown.

I would love to do this, but I can’t do either date! I have lots of stuff that would fit this criteria and I love this space. :frowning:

I took the Random part to be any wine. I can line up a random stickie if that’s the theme

Dealer’s choice!!. Only requirement: can go with with cheese, so probably not some ultra-tannic red.

Bear in mind we will be drinking much port, so super subtle is gonna have a hard time (but we could do that first before palates blown out). .

I am requesting some aged/ hard cheeses in advance! I am lactose intolerant, but I will have lactaid with me!
