Point Fire (Sonoma County)

We have our first significant fire - started near Lake Sonoma on Sunday afternoon. It is impacting the area west of West Dry Creek Road. High winds, dry conditions and the fire spread overnight to over 1,000 acres (20% containment). Hopefully they get the air cavalry engaged again early this morning. Earlier reports indicated Ferrari-Carano was in the path, but this morning’s fire map shows the fire went due south (good news for FC).

Red zone = mandatory evacuation; Yellow zone = evacuation warning

Here’s the Cal Fire report

Looks like it didn’t grow much overnight, which is a good thing. Hopefully the winds don’t pick up too much this AM and they are able to knock it down.

Cheers
