Plum Wine Dispenser

I’m interested in getting one of these despite the incredibly steep price tag: https://plum.wine/

I’m not particularly interested in the label-reading/info/display. I just want a sleek counter-top device that I can go to for a small temperature-controlled pour every now and then with the touch of a button for a daily-drinker type wine. Not for opening a special bottle with friends.

I have a coravin and hardly ever use it. But I bought a super-automatic espresso machine (Jura) and use it multiple times per day. Which makes me think I’d use something like this.

I saw a thread a few years back where people lightly talked about this. Any updated reviews? People that have them still like them? Or am I potentially spending $2500 on something I will stop using after the novelty wears off?

I have had one for three years or so and use it regularly (2-3 times per week). It’s extremely convenient for keeping two bottles chilled at the right temperature and for dispensing five ounces at request (I don’t think I have ever used the one ounce pour (why bother)). You do have to clean it regularly which isn’t difficult and takes maybe 5-7 minutes. In the time we have had it, it has “broken” once and they sent a replacement needle which we replaced (took maybe 10 minutes). Having said that, I would say it’s a very expensive toy and does take up a lot of room (its the size of a microwave oven). I would also not use it for both white and red as a few times some red from one side bled into the other side. I use a Coravin in my winter home which I find works quite well.

Thanks for the info. Im disappointed that you cant do red/white at the same time, because thats what I was hoping to do. I thought they were totally separate tubes to prevent the bleed between them, so the fact that it happened to you is probably enough to convince me not to buy.

I used to work with someone who had something similar (I’m not sure if it was that brand) and it seemed like a cool toy, but he noted that it wasn’t always working properly. The one time I went to a party at their house there were enough people there that they were just opening (lots of!) bottles the old fashioned way.
