Planning your visit to Sonoma "County"? This might help.

new spot opened in the Kenwood Village recently: Palooza Gastropub & Wine Bar. moderately-priced ($10-$18), comfort-food style selections. good selection of local wines and 16 different beers on tap. outdoor patio is a good spot to relax after a day of tasting.

and thanks to everyone who’s contributed to this thread, especially Brian. this will be a great resource for locals & visitors alike!

Thanks Mike! I’m trying not to list eh’s and other than the Cheese Factory I think I succeeded. People like the place though. Trying not to put negative vibes on the listings. Maybe if people ask about a pace not listed we can chime in with our thoughts at that time.

I added all the suggestions and started a Winery Collective/Wine Bar section. More to come!
Thanks everyone for the input. [berserker.gif]

4/6/14 Updated Restaurants, Wine Bars, Tasting Collectives, Non-Wine Activities

Something missing, give me a recco. Think something should be “Berserker Recommended”, just say so, you are the Berserkers.

I’m testing out a new format to shorten the listings. I put winery listings in a spoiler under each AVA heading. I could do the same thing with the restaurant listing too if you think it works OK. Yea or Nay?

If nobody responds it will go back to the original format.

Brian, you can add Sauvignon Blanc, Merlot, Meritage, and Pinot Noir to my listing if you want.
Thanks for doing this. It’s really coming together. I’m going to try and make some contributions myself eventually.

Done!

Any feedback on the format change people? Good or bad?

I like it.

The more concise the better.

i like the new format with the spoiler tags.

also, i’d add The Glen Ellen Star, Glen Ellen Inn (oysters and a martini list as long as your arm), and Yeti Restaurant (Indian) to the list of places to dine in Glen Ellen.

Should I do that with the restaurant listings as well?

I think that would be better.

Not to add more work, but maybe you could have a list of restaurants by area and a list of restaurants by cuisine.

4-7 update, added wineries, restaurants, weather activities and put all info into spoilers under each heading to shorten the post.

Did I leave something out?
Did I leave you out?
It’s a work in progress, let me know.

Brian, I’d like to add Taqueria El Sombrero, across the street from Oakville Grocery, just off the Healdsburg square. Casual walk-in Mexican place, never been disappointed by their food.

Agreed!

I think the “wine variety abbreviations” can be “spoiler hidden” as well… that’s a massively long list that takes up the entire screen

FIFY!

Brian, thanks again for the hard work. This is rapidly becoming the #2 best WB thread of all time!

A couple for the non-wine:
Jack London State Historic Park in Glen Ellen http://www.jacklondonpark.com/ I’d probably put under hiking/nature but also there’s focus on history.

And since it’s mentioned upthread, Bear Weekend… [wow.gif]

Really…Really!?

I guess we’ll have to include Russian River Womens Weekend as well as to not discriminate.

Larry,

I added a LGBT Focused Events heading under Non-Wine Related

Good call. It should be there since it’s of interest to people visiting the region.

Brian,

You can add Fogline Vineyards to Fulton as our TR/Winery permits came in today. We hope to open to the public next month.

Thanks,
Evan
