Pinot Days Southern California, January 14-17

Sasha,

Bummed we won’t see you down here this time . . .

I’ll be headed up your way in a few weeks - I’ll drop you a line!

Cheers!

Are we going to try to put together an official offline on Sunday after the grand tasting?!?!?!?

Also, any of you attending either of the winemaker dinners?!?!??

Cheers!

I’ll be at the Sunday ‘grand tasting’, so I’m game for an offline

I’d be up for something as well.

Took Todd’s advice and created a thread for this dinner idea in Offline Planner. We can keep tally and post details over there.

Sounds great!

We are in. Just ordered tickets, and have a 10% discount code for any who have not ordered tix yet. Use winexsc10 in the discount code box.

Looking forward to seeing most of you on Sunday. I’ll be at the trade and for part of the public tasting. We need to get the word out and support Steve & Lisa’s event. They do a great job and we need events like this in the LA area.

I really enjoyed the event here in Chicago- despite the guy from Siduri(not Adam) giving me some 'tude when I refused to try the white pinot to start…it was a very nice event.

Had the Siduri, Small Vines and Sojourn all in a row!!! [welldone.gif]

I will bring a bottle the 2002 pinot and have it under the table if anyone would like to try it. It won’t be visible, which means you have to ask for it and introduce yourself.

It’s the first Pinot I vinified and is just coming out of it’s midlife crisis. The wine was reductive in barrel, then bright after bottling until 2006, went into a dark phase and is now back into cherry and raspberry with subtle hints of bone-in, roast of Crotalus Viridis taken from sage and baccharis dominated west facing coastal slopes.

Sunday looks like a pleasant day as we transition to series of Pacific storms that start Monday?

I’m planning on bringing a barrel sample or two of our upcoming 2008 SVD and Clonal Selection Pinots for those that stop by the Fess Parker table - and ask nicely (-:

Looking forward to this event - and for those attending, be prepared - I think there’s going to be quite a few folks there!!!

Cheers!

Any one going have any tips on some new/under the radar producers? There are quite a few that I have not heard of, and looking for a few new names to taste.
See you all Sunday. [berserker.gif]
