Looking forward to seeing most of you on Sunday. I’ll be at the trade and for part of the public tasting. We need to get the word out and support Steve & Lisa’s event. They do a great job and we need events like this in the LA area.
I really enjoyed the event here in Chicago- despite the guy from Siduri(not Adam) giving me some 'tude when I refused to try the white pinot to start…it was a very nice event.
Had the Siduri, Small Vines and Sojourn all in a row!!!
I will bring a bottle the 2002 pinot and have it under the table if anyone would like to try it. It won’t be visible, which means you have to ask for it and introduce yourself.
It’s the first Pinot I vinified and is just coming out of it’s midlife crisis. The wine was reductive in barrel, then bright after bottling until 2006, went into a dark phase and is now back into cherry and raspberry with subtle hints of bone-in, roast of Crotalus Viridis taken from sage and baccharis dominated west facing coastal slopes.
Sunday looks like a pleasant day as we transition to series of Pacific storms that start Monday?
I’m planning on bringing a barrel sample or two of our upcoming 2008 SVD and Clonal Selection Pinots for those that stop by the Fess Parker table - and ask nicely (-:
Looking forward to this event - and for those attending, be prepared - I think there’s going to be quite a few folks there!!!
Any one going have any tips on some new/under the radar producers? There are quite a few that I have not heard of, and looking for a few new names to taste.
See you all Sunday.
