Last night, while watching ‘On the Waterfront’, we had two grappas and a Pink Lady apple. First was a Don Quixote Grappa of Malvasia Bianca, made by a local Los Alamos distiller, a little fruitier, simpler, and more rustic than our usual grappas. It was, however, much better than the Don Quixote grappa that Carollee had at SantaCafé a couple years ago. Second was the Banfi Grappa di Brunello, more elegant fruit, but a little hotter on the finish. Both were enjoyable with the crisp, flavorful apple.
I thought I had seen the movie a long time ago. But a few minutes into it, I realized I’d never seen it. It was enjoyable sitting in our living room (since two programs were being recorded in the den at the same time as the movie) watching a 55-year old black & white movie on an HD screen.
