Paumanok Vineyards in Aquebogue wins 'Winery of the Year' at 2015 New York Wine & Food Classic

Thank you Mark. As to your mention of the NYT Eric Asimov article, it is certainly time that Chenin got the attention it deserves.

This is the outcome of the NY Wine Classic competition, where about 850 NY wines were judged by about 25 judges. This is the second time Paumanok wins this award and I believe we are the only winery to win it twice, but I may be wrong.
To qualify for the award a winery must have submitted 7 wines and garnered the highest overall score. Paumanok also won “Best White Wine” with its Semi Dry Riesling. An interesting outcome as this is the third time a Paumanok Riesling comes ahead of Finger Lake Riesling.

Great job Charles. You deserve it and it couldn’t go to a nicer, more accommodating vineyard owner. Not surprised about the Riesling. I think yours is a bit sharper with a less syrupy presentation.

Now stop resting on your laurels and get back to work making us more wine.

I was just there last Friday. Bought four bottles of the Chenin Blanc. Going back to LI this weekend and getting a case or two. For me it’s the perfect white wine. Best kept secret in the wine world and great QPR.
