Last nite some Pinot Noir wines from Burgundy and Oregon.
Very enjoyable Lucien Le Moine GC Burgundies, I preferred Charmes-Chambertin over the Clos de la Roche. C-C was a cleaner, fresher wine.
Arterberry Maresh wines were ok but no match for the Patricia Green lineup. The Maresh Vineyard version was a step up from the regular Dundee Hill, as one could expect.
As impressive as the Lucien Le Moine Grand Cru wines were, my top three favorites were Patricia Greens Ribbon Ridge “Estate Vineyard” Old Vine 2016 and Dundee Hills “Durant Vineyard, Bishop Block” 2014 and Chehalem Mountains “Olenik Vineyard” 2013.
The Durant was number one for me overall, Estate Old Vine wines were a tad on the huge side of things, but I am not complaining a bit. Olenik and some others not far behind. Quite an even set, utterly enjoyable. I need to stock up, it seems.
I tend to prefer California and Oregon Pinots over Burgundies. A matter of taste. New world fruit, with old-world wine making style is the recipe for me.
