Paris-food tour guide?

Going to take my teenage kids to paris for a few days/week and was wondering if anyone had ever used a food tour guide. I recall hearing about them in the past, but I’ve never done it.

thanks

I’ve not used them, but I’ve heard good things about them and read their restaurant reviews

Allison and I were in Paris last November and December and did one of their tours. We really enjoyed it - gave us a chance to explore a neighborhood with an expert.

We had a wine and cheese stop as part of our tour. Cheese was outstanding and the wine was great too, although obviously not Grand Cru (or the tour would have been way more expensive).

Highly recommended and think it would be a great experience for teenagers.

I did the south marais tour by paris by mouth last year and it was excellent. very family friendly and about 3-4 hours.

Another option is Wendy Lynn.

I have never done either but I know both Meg (Paris by Mouth) and Wendy (Paris is my Kitchen) and they definitely know Paris.

Loved our Paris By Mouth experience.

I see them both often, sometimes daily, at the food shops/restaurants/winebars I frequent. I think that Meg is a bit more up to date; I learn more about places that I didn’t know or haven’t been (for awhile) from Paris By Mouth. Both do a good job touring infrequent visitors.

Paul:

You are a good /bad influence. We are going to Paris next month with my foodie daughter, son in law and their 15 and 17 year old daughters. We booked the south Marais Paris by mouth tour and are looking forward to it We are staying at a VRBO near Rambuteau metro stop.

Personally I trust Wendy more for restaurant recommendations. I know them both and my tastes are just not as aligned with Meg; although I do subscribe to her site.

I’ve heard great things about the food tours with Paris by Mouth or Paris is My Kitchen. They seem like a really fun way to experience different neighborhoods and bites with your kids. The guides really know their stuff too. Hope you all have an amazing time exploring Paris! :plate_with_cutlery: :tokyo_tower:

We had a great experience with Paris by Mouth as well. Would definitely do again.

I’d note that Wendy’s current tour is centered in Belleville and targeted at a younger/hip crowd. Trying to decide if we want to sign up when we’re there next month, as I’d love to do something more out-of-the-box then hit all of our old haunts/favorites for the 20th time.

Does Wendy run them herself? If so that is worth the price of admission. I know Meg has a bunch of people who work for here.

Yes, which is why we’re trying to make it work

We’ll, of course, hit Les Enfants du Marche, regardless.

I see Wendy on tours frequently, sometimes daily, in my regular market and restaurant stops, including LEdM.

Belleville is worth a visit. It was the epicenter of Paris street art for many years and is worth visiting for that alone. Even though most of Rue Dénoyez has been demolished, there is still much to see. I’d go!
