My recipe is fairly basic: tomatoes, beans, ground beef, onion, spices such as a minor amount of red chili flakes. Given this, what are your top wine pairings for such a dish? Of course the acidity is a factor, and heat is a factor, but also the starch from the beans. I prefer reds but if there’s a white that folks love with chili, I’m open to hearing about it.

For my part, I like reds too and might do something like a Bedrock OV Zin. Fairly fruit forward and not too fancy. I could also see a lighter red like Birichino or Tribute to Grace Grenache.
