I am struggling with this one as I really like the wine, but I am also going to pass on Outpost this year. I’ll buy some of the 18’ zinfandel in the summer release so long as they haven’t upped the price again.
Visited Outpost last month and the 17’s are superb. I actually like the 17 howell mountain more than the 16. Picked up a few in person.
The 17s scare me. Will likely grab a couple of True nonetheless
The 17 true is amazing. Outpost nailed their 17s.
Howell Mountain had no issues with fire or smoke taint in 2017 so no need to be scared.
No fears of smoke taint. TRB wouldn’t let it be sold if so. Just concerned about the weaker vintage relative to 15/16/18
