An interesting study of online wine influencers:
Todd - we need more infographics on Facebook!!!
Snooth is way up there, must be scraping data from Eric again.
Seems more like a measure of “eyeballs” than “influence”. Lot 18 and WTSO??? Love the log scale. Can’t include CT because “that’s different”? Where’s anything from WA / Parker? Whatever metric this is trying to measure, it’s a questionable one.
Wine Folly? Lot18? Club W? Yea no.
On the other hand, I’m surprised Joe Roberts of 1WineDude isn’t listed.
How in the hell is Feiring over Berserkers? And there was no Brett Favre. Clearly flawed.
too bad my favorite elf Vaynerchuk is still off the circuit.
I haven’t even heard of several of these sites and then sites like…Snooth? Really, I don’t get it. I delete it out of my email almost everyday because it’s usually…BORING.
Pretty funny, but extreme GIGO…
You must at least give them credit for excluding Suckling.
Can’t hurt Wine-Searcher subscriptions.
Still trying to figure out why 1.2 million monthly unique visitors makes my site inapplicable?!?
I’m probably the one responsible for placing Lot18 so high in the rankings. I go there every once and again to LOL over how the investors were bilked for $10s of millions.
On the interwebs the rules are strange.
These are some pretty broad generalizations about a varied community of wine folks with a plethora of different interests and preferences. Other than Winesearcher, which I use primarily to shop rather than for its wine news, this doesn’t reflect my relative influences even close to accurately. But I like the geeky stuff, so perhaps that makes sense.
