Offsite Storage Options in CA's South Bay

What are the current offsite options for the south bay in L.A.? It’s been a long time since I’ve shopped around, and I’m wondering if something has popped-up in the last decade that may present a more attractive option than my current Glendale storage. TIA. [cheers.gif]

Besides 20/20, is the South Bay still a wine storage wasteland?

there is wine store on artesia called manhattan fine wine…they have off site storage…might want to give them a call or pay a visit…very nice owner. his name is joe

I’ve been happy with The Wine Country in Long Beach. Not South Bay, but closer than Glendale…

are you at the Wine Vault in Glendale? Just wondering if there’s any reason you want to leave, besides the obvious one of distance.

I’ve heard of Ideal55 and they have a few locations on the west side that might be closer. George who runs it seems busy though and isn’t always able to respond as fast, and it’s on the pricier side.

Hey, just saw this, you live down this way?

I’m in the same boat as you, been looking for a bit and have some stuff offsite but pretty far away right now. As Rick said, Manhattan Fine Wines does apparently have storage but last I heard they only had some pretty large options available, but I should check again.

They might actually be the same as Ideal 55 company (https://ideal55.com/) that has it’s main location in the Marina. They have a Hermosa Beach location advertised but per their site nothing is available with options for waiting list for lockers ranging from 75 cases and up.

They also have been advertising an El Segundo/LAX facility right off El Segundo Blvd for over a year now but when I talked to the owner this spring he seemed frustrated and said it would be 2018 at the earliest so who knows…

Thanks, guys.

Looks like the options are still horribly limited. I’ll look into the few mentioned here. Primarily, the location of my current offsite is a tough one for me, as offsite is in Glendale, I work downtown, and live as far south in Torrance as one can go. The Long Beach one will get a good look from me.

you know, last night I was hanging with a friend and I brought-up this topic: he said we should open our own place. (LOL!). Instinctively, I immediately dismissed the idea, but after talking about it for an hour, we started to give it some serious thought. I’m sure licenses and rent would be astronomically expensive (I’ve surmised these are the likely reasons for the relative lack of options in the area), but maybe it would be doable … I dunno … we may revisit that idea at a later time. In the meantime, however, I’d like to thank all of you who have offered recommendations – I will look into each of them.

Ideal55 is opening a location on Bunker Hill (opening “soon”? - They ran into many issues causing delays it sounds). Great for having a stash near your work! But as Fred mentioned, it’s a bit on the pricier side, especially compared to Glendale.
