My wife and I will be in Napa/Sonoma btn 5/2 and 5/10–staying in Kenwood 5/2-5/6 and St Helena 5/6-5/10. We were hoping to organize an offline (maybe upto 8 people). Thinking of Burgundy, old Barolo, or old Cali Cab, depending on what might interest people.
Let me know know if you are interested, and what dates might work for you.
Also I would appreciate recs for restaurants that might be particularly hospitable to groups/BYO, especially those in the Sonoma town square, Glen Ellen, Kenwood, Calistoga, and/or St Helena.
I’m game for the St. Helena part of your trip. I don’t have much in the way of Burg or old Barolo (but I can source), but I do have Cali of all shapes and sizes – 60’s - today. Let’s see who else we can scare up, looking forward to it.
Sounds great. Really anything that you would be interested in drinking works for me.
Not much of a stickler for themes, flights, etc–just looking forward to good food, wine, and company.
I’m sure a few more people will chime in, once we get a good number, we can start to look for places to do it.
As far as places that are BYO friendly – Rutherford Grill is free corkage, no limit. Not super fancy, but the QPR winner by far . Most of the other places are about $25/btl (upvalley).
Sonoma Plaza - Girl and the Fig has a $0 corkage (but they may have a one bottle rule), call them and check 707.938.3634 (Very European-meets Sonoma).
I LOVE La Salette on the plaza, Portuguese - very intimate, fabulous food!707.938.1927
For Italian, Della Santina is the best in town and on the square/plaza and they have a private room in the back and a great enclosed patio area - 707.935.0576.
Corkage fee’s in Sonoma are rarely >$10.
