Official WTSO thread

In my experience, their marathons are real snoozers. You can go on vinelog and look at the whole history - pretty unexciting. They had Bollinger for the same price as everybody else. A 1985 port for almost double what I paid for it. I buy from WTSO relatively often but I’m glad I didn’t waste my day following this.

I agree. I checked in a few times throughout the day and didn’t see a thing I’d buy.

Thanks for the info. I just called, requested Platinum status, and it was granted. I ended up only buying 1 bottle during the Marathon, and wanted to add a couple more to it which I wasn’t able to get in time. They said to call back in a couple weeks to obtain inventory, because that’s how long it will take them to sort out the Marathon sale.

Should it ever appear again, the 2011 Fattoria di Fibbiano L’Aspetto is off the chains good @ $14.99 per. 50% Sangiovese, 50% Canaiolo and so far my QPR OTY.

Plus, the back label reads “Real Tuscan Wine” so you just know it’s the real deal

Giacosa Barbaresco Santo Stefano 2 pack '05 & '07 $200.00?

The Mastrojanni 2010 BdM was a nice offer. Only lasted 20 min.

Grabbed the LDH Vina Tondonia Rioja Reserva 2002 for $27.99. A very good price and a great producer. Minimum 3 for free shipping.

+1

Holy smokes: LdH on 'TSO! What’s next - Giacosa? [snort.gif]

Thanks for the heads-up. [cheers.gif]

I bought the Lopez de Heredia also.

Somewhat surprised the LdH is still up. Then again, it might not be on the wine-radar of those buying what could be considered more “typical” WTSO offerings…

Also, while LDH is not a huge volume producer their quantities aren’t tiny either. This could be a fairly large allocation that someone is blowing out of inventory.

Had to go for six of these. They’ll keep me from crushing my '94 Tondonia GR stash.

have to buy this one.
Thanks for the heads up.

Tempting, but a 2001 didn’t show all that well last month. And the 2002 is a much worse vintage.

Anyone know if they ship to Maryland? I actually have to register before I can find out if they can ship to me and not really keen on that. I know that 5 years ago +/- they could not ship here.

Bet long on LdH on “off” vintages. It turns into the best value in wine anywhere.

They do - I receive my shipments in Lexington Park, MD

Just bought 3 bottles of 2002 Lopez de Heredia Viña Tondonia for $27 per bottle.

The vintage wasn’t as good but I have had this one and it’s very typical LDH.
